Flame Health Optometry - Optical Sales - Area Accounts Manager Job - Ireland

This global lens manufacturer has an immediate requirement for an Area Account Manager to cover Southern Ireland. The company employs around 400 people in the UK and has some of the world’s most up-to-date plastic lens surfacing and coating equipment. Globally it operates in around 40 countries throughout the world over 5 continents making it one of the most reputable suppliers in the market.

This role will involve dealing directly with optical practices throughout Ireland to promote their comprehensive range of products, conducting regular account reviews and implementing client training to ensure that their products are correctly promoted, specified and prescribed.The Person:

Job Role:

  • To sell in full the range of products by negotiation with opticians, to increase sales in volume, value and margin.
  • To continually assess the market, maintaining customer and competitor records.
  • To identify opportunities and be able to provide call reports, monthly reports and forward planning sheets as required.
  • To agree and implement customer training for opticians and staff on all new and existing products to improve value added sales.
  • Implement promotional activity to ensure that company products maintain a high profile within the marketplace and to increase market share. 

 

  • A third level qualification in business studies or a similar qualification and also ideally have a Dispensing Optics qualification or optical practice experience.
  • Be highly motivated with good organisational, interpersonal and negotiating skills.
  • Be target driven and have a proven track record of working on their own initiative and be capable of making a real impact on the bottom line.
  • Possess a persuasive personality and be able to establish and build relationships with both new and existing customers.
